Teaching Experience

2004-Present: Bourton on the Water
I teach short courses to visitors to the Cotswolds; prepare students for English Language exams; and offer longer courses to teach locally-employed hotel and restaurant staff.

1999-2003 The Hague, the Netherlands.
I was a private English teacher and specialised in exam preparation courses. My students included: a Portuguese Judge, Brazilian architects, French lawyers, a Kuwaiti diplomat, a Serbian executive, a Chinese pilot, Iranian and Moroccan university students, Eastern European executive wives, and many others.

1991-1998 Guernsey, C.I.
I established a private English language school, Offshore English, with a fellow teacher. We successfully prepared many students for the Cambridge English Exams, taught visiting groups of European executives on 1-2 week intensive courses and enabled many European professionals and hotel/restaurant staff working on the island to achieve their English-language goals.

1989 - 91 Geneva, Switzerland.
I gained the CELTA qualification at the Bell Educational Trust and was subsequently employed as a teacher both there and at the Phoenix School of Modern Languages in Gland. I also helped teach lessons given at the United Nations to children of its employees.

1987-89 Lausanne, Switzerland.
I was a teacher at a private pre-school for English-speaking children.

1983-86 Trinidad, West Indies.

1977-83 Jakarta, Indonesia.
I successfully established and ran a kindergarten for up to 15 expatriate children of widely different nationalities.
